Yoga Teachings

Meditation

Wordless I travel, letting the mind dream

of nothing at all to the point of surrender.

Not even dreaming but being dreamed.

I let go of the outer world, turning inward to the transcendent silence;

carried by a river of broad water, flowing water, ancient water.

In this quiet awareness a small leaf turns to the perception of God.

Still fathoms in broad traces carry me.

In a light I gleam, a coffer of my own soul.

Focus

If you pay attention at every moment, you form a new relationship to time.

In some magical way, by slowing down,

you become more efficient, productive, and energetic.

Focusing without distraction directly on the task in front of you. Not only do you become

immersed in the moment, you become that moment.

Peace

Ultimately, we have just one moral duty:
to reclaim large areas of peace in ourselves,

 more and more peace,
and to reflect it towards others.

And the more peace there is in us,
the more peace there will be in our troubled world.

Shavasana
Corpse pose

Means unmoving, yet mind alert.
A practice of letting go of our body.
The ultimate asana of non-clinging.
The body, mind, spirit come into balance.
Trains us how to be free of tension.
Develops self awareness.
Attitude is of surrender.

The purpose of meditation is inner happiness, inner peace.

When all senses become quiet and you experience bliss, which is the attainment.

If thoughts arise, let them come & go. Watch the source of your thoughts.

Meditate with the awareness that you are a witness to your thoughts. You are not your thoughts.

When you keep moving the body continually, the mind becomes restless. As the posture becomes steady,

the prana (breath) automatically becomes steady. As the prana becomes steady, the mind becomes steady,

and as the mind becomes steady, you begin to drink the joy that is in the heart.

Pay attention;

that’s always good advice.

It’s amazing how much frustration can be avoided and  how much joy and awareness gained

just by paying attention, to yourself and the people

and the world around you,

wherever you may be.

**

 Ask yourself throughout the day,
not as a judgment
but as an awareness

How long have you been in the present moment?

The Present Time

It’s the greatest show on earth, and it’s happening

right here right now!

The present is always more interesting than the

future or the past.
